These are old announcements from the previous web site which still may be of interest....

AzCamServer -

The AzCamServer window now opens on all systems when AzCam is started. The window is not intended for normal use by observers, but acts as a console for the main server. The window is typically configured with a red background on mountain systems.

AzCamConsole -

An AzCamConsole process may be started (usually from a desktop icon) which opens an IPython window in which commands python and AzCam client-side commands may be executed. This window is intended for scripting and image analysis for system characterization. As in previous versions, you may run a script in this window with the command: Run scriptname.

AzCamConsole windows optionally loads a python package or command set for a specific system. The most common package is itldetchar. To load a package named packagename into AzCamComsole, type import packagename or from packagenameimport *.

AzCamTool -

Parameters are not automatically saved when AzCamTool closes to avoid unexpected results.  Important parameters are automatically saved as they are changed.

There is no longer an option to automatically reset the controller when AzCamTool starts. The controller will reset automatically if an exposure is taken and reset has not yet occurred.
